99 Names of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
The Prophet ﷺ is called by many names and titles in the Quran and hadith. Most of them describe his qualities and his mission.
- Quran 48:29 Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
- Quran 61:6 Isa (Jesus) gave glad tidings of a messenger to come after him whose name is Ahmad.
- Quran 33:45-46 O Prophet, We have sent you as a witness, a bearer of glad tidings and a warner, a caller to Allah by His leave, and a light-giving lamp.
- Sahih al-Bukhari 3532, Sahih Muslim 2354 I have five names: I am Muhammad and Ahmad; I am al-Mahi, through whom Allah erases disbelief; I am al-Hashir, at whose feet people will be gathered; and I am al-‘Aqib, after whom there is no prophet.
- Sahih Muslim 2355 He ﷺ named himself Muhammad, Ahmad, al-Muqaffi, al-Hashir, the Prophet of Repentance and the Prophet of Mercy.
